North Dorset submits CIL Schedule for examination

North Dorset District Council submitted its Draft CIL Charging Schedule to TRA for examination on the 12th October. The schedule will be examined by experienced examiner Terrence Kemmann-Lane.


Midlothian officers decipher the Language of Urban Design

Midlothian Council commissioned TRA to deliver its recently developed workshop, The Language of Urban Design, to help equip their officers with a confident approach to negotiating and commenting on planning applications. Using a variety of techniques, participants explored the language of urban design through examples, field work and the exploration of local and national policy, in the context of best practice from the UK and abroad.


Another successful Forum on Enforcement

As always, we were very pleased to see so many people at our annual Forum on Enforcement, with delegates from England, Wales and Scotland travelling to Manchester for the event on 13 October. Examiner recommends Shillingstone Neighbourhood Plan for Referendum

The examination of the Shillingstone Neighbourhood Plan, submitted to TRA by North Dorset DC, was completed at the beginning of October. The Examiner Brian Dodd concluded that, subject to some modifications, the Plan meets the "basic conditions" and other legal tests required. The Neighbourhood Plan Examination service provided by TRA offers a competitive pricing structure and the excellent administrative backup and customer service for which TRA is well known.

North Warwickshire Councillors polish up on Good Practice at Committee and the Green Belt

TRA was recently asked to deliver two short Councillor training sessions on behalf of North Warwickshire BC - Good Practice for Planning/Development Management Committees and Understanding Development in the Green Belt. Both sessions were delivered during the evening to encourage maximum attendance.
