The importance of design considerations for Councillors

It is now widely accepted that urban design is an important aspect of the planning process and that basic urban design skills should be far more widely disseminated throughout the planning system, including among elected Members. TRA offers an in-house workshop entitled Design Considerations and the Principles of Urban Design specifically aimed at Councillors who are looking to begin the process of developing these basic skills.

Planning Performance Agreements: how to draft, manage and use them

TRA was recently commissioned by Milton Keynes BC to develop a new in-house workshop on Planning Performance Agreements (PPAs). The workshop considered the use of project management techniques for planning, with an overview of PPAs in theory and in practice. The workshop was developed and delivered by TRA Presenter, Rachel Danemann and feedback from the session was excellent.

Two more Neighbourhood Plans submitted for examination

Peterborough City Council have submitted two more Neighbourhood Plans to TRA for examination. The separate plans for the rural parishes of Castor and Ailsworth have been prepared by a joint working group, taking a common approach to ensure that they are complementary to, and supportive of, each other. David Kaiserman has been appointed to examine the plans.
