Fairfield Neighbourhood Plan submitted for examination

The latest examination to be organised through TRA's Independent Neighbourhood Plan Examination Service is for the Fairfield Neighbourhood Plan. Fairfield is unusual in being a relatively new community, with the Parish having only been formed in 2013.


A busy month ahead for TRA and in-house Officer training!

TRA is gearing up for a busy month in June with eleven in-house training courses set to run, for a mixture of both Officers and Support Staff. Examples of topics range from validation, customer care and PD to design, viability and negotiation skills....

TRA workshops continue in London in September

Our 2017-18 Training Workshop Programme is set to continue in London with three workshops taking place on 26 September 2017, one of which is a new addition to the programme for this year. The Basics of Planning is already fully booked but there are still places available on the other two, Being an Effective Witness at Inquiries and Viability: what planners need to know (NEW), but don't leave it too long if you would like to book a place!

Southwark submits revised CIL Charging Schedule for examination

Southwark Council submitted its Draft revised CIL Charging Schedule to TRA for examination at the end of May. The schedule will be examined by experienced examiner Terrence Kemmann-Lane. TRA heads over to Wales for Member training

Following the Welsh local elections in May TRA has been commissioned by several Welsh Authorities to deliver in-house planning training for their Members, all of which have now been successfully delivered. Sessions have taken place in Bridgend, Newport, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and Powys.

A Forum on Enforcement 2017 - time to book your place!

Details have now been finalised and are being circulated for this year's Forum on Enforcement to be held on 12 October in Manchester. For almost 30 years, TRA has been at the forefront of providing training and education opportunities for enforcement officers, legal and planning staff and anyone with a specific interest in planning enforcement. The Enforcement Forum has been one of the mainstays of our annual programme, providing excellent CPD.
