Bassetlaw DC and neighbours learn about Viability

Bassetlaw District Council recently commissioned TRA to develop and deliver a bespoke workshop on viability for their staff and staff from neighbouring authorities. The course covered everything from national advice and guidance to applying viability in practice, and considered viability for Local Plan policy development and testing in the context of Development Management decision making.


Lee Prebble says farewell

After 16 years with TRA, our Senior Associate Lee Prebble has decided to retire. We will miss him a great deal, as much for his friendship as his contribution to the success of the business. Here he looks back over those 16 years. All the best, Lee, and enjoy some well-deserved rest and relaxation!


Training programmes for 2017/18

Those of you who are keen to know what training opportunities are in store for next year will be pleased to hear that we are putting the finishing touches to our programmes for England/Wales and Scotland.


Certificated Training in Planning Enforcement - Advertisement Control

The next two modules in TRA's popular Certificated Programme in Planning Enforcement are due to begin early in the new year. A small number of places are still available on just one of the modules - Planning Enforcement and Advertisment Control which is due to run on 18-19 January and 27-28 February 2017. The modules are part of a unique programme providing the opportunity for those involved in planning enforcement to undertake certificated training in order to achieve a formal qualification

TRA heads to the Isle of Man to train Councillors

TRA recently travelled to the Isle of Man to deliver a short training session for Councillors. The training was based on our standard ‘Briefing on Planning for Councillors’ workshop, but with amendments as needed to reflect Isle of Man legislation. The session was developed and delivered by TRA Senior Associate, David Kaiserman, who worked closely with the authority to ensure all their objectives were met.
