Salary: £19,430 to £23,398 per annum pro rata (with possible progression to £27,668 pro rata)

Hours: 30 hours per week (0.8fte)

We have an opportunity to join our high performing Development Management team at an exciting time for the National Park. The National Park boundary was extended in 2016 to include the stunning Westmorland fells and Upper Lune valley, and our new local plan is aimed at encouraging sustainable development that delivers economic growth and much needed local housing.

We need a positive and pragmatic person with good customer service skills to join our small team responsible for planning enforcement across the whole of the National Park. The post-holder will be responsible for investigating breaches of planning control and   resolving them by negotiation or by planning enforcement procedures. The role also includes monitoring development and ensuring compliance with planning and listed building permissions.

The successful candidate will have good negotiation skills and be capable of producing accurate and thorough work. High standards of customer service and the ability to deal with all of our customers with tact and sensitivity are essential.
