St Albans is a unique English Cathedral City with a colourful history which can be seen in the Roman remains and variety of beautiful architecture, heritage sites and conservation areas. Set within green belt, off the M25, A1M and M1 the District includes a cathedral, historic city centre and charming villages. Our offices are in the city centre near to the station (London St Pancras 20 minutes), shops and restaurants. In short it is a great place to live and work.

You will be providing professional advice and guidance to service users and colleagues. This will include tree inspections and surveys, consultation advice for the determination of planning applications, appeal and planning enforcement and prosecutions issues as a specialist witness.  You will also issue works to contractors, monitor, supervise their performance and enforce health and safety regulations in relation to these works.

Educated to Degree/HND or Foundation degree qualification in Arboriculture, Urban Forestry or Community Forestry Management you will ideally have a Landscape Architecture/Management, Dip Arb (RFS) or be working towards a Professional Diploma in Arboriculture. Knowledge of Tree Preservation Orders, Conservation Area Notifications together with knowledge of tree management issues is essential for this post.
