It is an exciting time for Epping Forest District Council as we take our new Local Plan through independent examination towards adoption. The Local Plan sets out ambitious growth for the District, including the delivery of 11,400 new homes and 10,800 new jobs by 2033, including a new Garden Town.
We are seeking a candidate with excellent communication skills who can provide research and technical support and play a key role in the busy Planning Policy Team. The ideal candidate will enjoy providing professional support to the team and also be able to show initiative in tackling project work and be comfortable working unsupervised.
Duties will include researching (e.g. through site visits, the Internet, internal databases), collating, managing and presenting information, including the monitoring of local planning activity and assessing the effectiveness of policies in the Local Plan. A significant element of this role will involve use of Geographical Information Systems (G.I.S). Experience in G.I.S is desirable but not essential, providing the candidate has a keen interest and the aptitude to learn.
This role is ideally suited to an individual with a strong interest in Planning and a keen desire to develop their career in this field.
