An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within our Planning Compliance Team at Petersfield within the South Downs National Park. Working within the multi-disciplinary “Operations and Neighbourhoods Directorate” you will make a real difference to the shape of our place both now and in the future working hand in hand with Planners, Environmental Health and Neighbourhood Quality Team.
This permanent post involves the investigating of planning enforcement matters and dealing with formal enforcement actions under the Planning & Listed Building Acts. Investigations may relate to residential development, change of use, advertisements, listed buildings and protected trees.
Our team is seeking a driven individual who will be required to work independently and part of a team undertaking site inspections and their own case load.
Experience in Planning and Enforcement is desirable, albeit training will be provided in this area if required. Furthermore, this role may involve carrying out interviews under PACE and to act as the Planning Authority’s witness in court proceedings and enforcement appeals. Further training will be provided if required.
A full driving licence and use of a car for work purposes is required, for which an essential user allowance will be payable.
