We are looking to recruit an ambitious and motivated individual who is interested in furthering their Planning/Conservation career in Local Government and who is able to help us to deliver a high quality Development Management, Conservation and Enforcement service.
The Planning/Conservation Officer position is a career graded post 6-8. (£21,074-£ 29,909)
The starting salary would be offered within a grade range commensurate with your skill base including knowledge, qualifications and experience. Working within the Council offers a full range of local government terms and conditions including flexible working, pension and potential access to further qualifications based training, funded by the Council's Apprenticeship Levy.
For Grade 6 you will need to demonstrate knowledge of building conservation philosophy and legislation and have good communication and organisational skills. You will need to demonstrate IT skills to CLAIT standard.
For grade 7-8 levels you will need to demonstrate a proven recent track record and have a high level of knowledge of planning policy and conservation legislation in relation to enforcement, and have excellent communication and organisational skills. Candidates will be able to plan and coordinate a wide range of short, medium and long term projects. Good IT skills, accurate record keeping and effective communication skills are essential requirements of the posts.
The main responsibilities for each of the posts are set out in the Job Specification. A full, clean driving license and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement for the planning posts. The post is full time (37 hours per week)
