An exciting opportunity for a driven and self motivated Urban Design Officer to play a key role in one of London’s most progressive and exciting boroughs.
Lewisham is undergoing huge transformation with unparalleled levels of investment, and a regeneration programme for the area more ambitious than any since the Victorian era. With major developments in Catford, Lewisham, Deptford, New Cross and others across the borough, award winning schemes, two Housing Zones and the Bakerloo Line extension, the transformation is well underway.
At the heart of the borough’s transformation is recognition of the importance of high quality design and the value that this adds to existing and future residents, businesses and visitors. We understand that the principle of good urban design is a fundamental component of achieving good growth and an inherent part of successful change in the borough.
The Urban Design Officer will support the Principal Urban Design Officer in providing input into the place making, plan making and development management functions of the service. The successful candidate will work within our multi-disciplinary Strategic Planning team to guide change within the borough.
The work we have is diverse, exciting and challenging and you will be working with a friendly team that is dedicated, positive and focussed on quality and high performance.
What we’re looking for
You should be able to demonstrate integrity and a strong drive and aptitude to deliver positive outcomes individually and as part of a team, helping to promote and deliver the boroughs development and growth sustainably and to the highest standard.
In return, we’ll offer excellent development opportunities, plus a range of benefits that includes a career average pension scheme, flexible working and the opportunity to make a real difference to our local community.
If you would like to discuss the above roles further, please contact David Syme – Strategic Planning Group Manager on 020 8314 6071 or by email at email@example.com.
