Harrogate is one of the largest shire districts in England, recognised for its high quality urban and rural environment. The district has a variety of settlements from the town of Harrogate to rural hamlets. There is huge landscape variety ranging from the Vale of York in the east to the Pennine fringes of the dales to the west including the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
We are looking for two Planners to work in our busy Development Management team. In this role, you will handle applications for planning permission and other consents, contest appeals and undertake development monitoring. You will also provide pre-application advice and guidance in the pursuit of sustainable development and change.
We are looking for candidates with a degree recognised by the RTPI or a related degree offering a means of achieving a recognised planning qualification. Knowledge of Town and Country Planning legislation, policy and guidance is required. You will also have good negotiation and interpersonal skills, good communication and analytical skills and knowledge and use of ICT office software. A full driving licence and access to a car is essential.
