Salary: from £27,141 up to £30,439 per year + car option plus up to 18.5% employer pension contribution

In this post, you will provide support for the delivery of an effective enforcement service by investigating breaches, implementing enforcement action and dealing with any related complaint with the assistance of specialist officers. This includes providing advice, working on appeals, enforcement and prosecution issues, providing written and oral evidence for hearings and Planning (public) Inquiries and Court

You will be responsible for investigating and managing a case load including small-scale breaches to larger cases which may require you to represent at planning appeals. Your typical case load will include dealing with unauthorised developments, changes of use, and works to listed buildings and you will deal with the case from investigation through to serving enforcement notices.

Educated to degree level or possessing significant relevant investigation/enforcement experience, you must be willing to complete a Certificated Course in Planning Enforcement within two years. Experience of working within an enforcement or investigations environment is essential. Working knowledge of planning legislation and the planning process along with experience of providing professional enforcement/planning advice would be desirable.

An excellent communicator, you must be computer literate with a flexible approach to work, including undertaking site visits outside normal office hours. You must have access to a vehicle for business use. This post is subject to a Basic Disclosure Check.
