Conference for Planning Support Staff - topics announced

We are delighted to announce that the topics for this year's Conference for Planning Support Staff have now been finalised.  Advance details are included below and a more detailed leaflet will be available for download from our website within the next week or so. Details will also be circulated shortly to our usual mailing contacts.

The Conference will take place at our London venue on Thursday 24 May 2018 and bookings are now invited.

This popular annual event is aimed at all administrative and technical staff involved in the planning process and each year addresses new areas of practice, as well as day to day issues. It represents a unique and valuable opportunity for those involved in planning support to meet with colleagues from other authorities and learn about current best practice and future developments affecting planning.

The topics covered this year will be:

  • an update on changes to the appeals process and the new requirements for LPAs
  • what to look for in Heritage Statements for submissions for development to Listed Buildings and in Conservation Areas
  • the use of Artificial Intelligence in planning at Milton Keynes and other "futuristic changes", and
  • an update on changes to the GPDO and proposed changes to the NPPF.

Bookings can be made via the online bookings page on our website. If you are unable to make a firm booking straight away, you can use the same page to provisionally reserve places online or alternatively telephone us on 01204 385678.

This event is also eligible for the block booking scheme where bookings of 2 or more places made at the same time (over any number of events in the 2018/19 programme) will receive a discount of between 10 and 15%. Further details of the discount can be found on the website.
