As mentioned in last month's Enews, our new Training Programme for 2020-21 has now been published and this year we will be introducing two brand new half-day Professional Updates. These events will be delivered in a "briefing" style as opposed to our usual interactive workshop format but there will be opportunity for questions. They will both run on the same day so can be attended as stand-alone sessions to meet specific training needs or in combination with each other to provide a more wide-ranging update. Participant numbers will be limited to a maximum of 40 per briefing.
The events will take place on 19 November 2020 at The Wesley in London with one in the morning and one in the afternoon. As the aim is for the content to be as up-to-date as possible, the specific topics/cases to be covered will only be finalised just before the event.
- Development Management Legal Update (9.30am - 12.30pm)
The emphasis of this session will be on considering how policy changes and case law have affected or may affect development management practice.
- Lessons from Challenges to Officer Reports (1.30pm - 4.30pm)
An officer's reports will always be the starting point for anyone wanting to challenge a decision of the Council. This briefing will provide a rare training opportunity to draw out what we can learn from some recent challenges.
Further details for each of the updates can be found on the TRA website via the above links. Bookings can be made online via the website. If you are unable to make a firm booking straight way, places can be reserved provisionally also online.
Discounts of up to 15% are available via our regular Discounted Block Booking Scheme depending on the total number of places booked. More details of the scheme are also on the website.
