This workshop is suitable for anyone who has to deal with enquiries about Permitted Development or who needs to understand PD in order to deal with alleged unauthorised development. The workshop will look at how PD works and provide some crucial definitions and help in interpreting and applying the most frequently used classes of permitted development, many of which now include the prior approval notification procedure . The aim of this workshop is therefore to help participants develop the knowledge and confidence essential in dealing with these complex aspects of Development Management. The workshop will provide a useful opportunity to look at Householder PD and Minor Permitted Development using case studies and participants' own concerns about these and other classes. How the Prior Notification procedure works, how the application should be processed, what “impacts” can be taken into account, and how appeals and breaches are handled will also be considered. Crucially, it will provide an opportunity for delegates to ask any questions about PD in order to develop their knowledge and confidence and to be aware of any further changes the Government are proposing to the regime.
