A Forum on Enforcement
Inter-Authority Training

TRA began running this annual event in 1990. Over the past 28 years it has become extremely popular and has established itself as the largest gathering in the UK of those at the sharp end of the statutory planning system. The Forum provides a unique opportunity to learn from a highly experienced panel of contributors and exchange useful experience with other participants in a structured, but not overly formal atmosphere.

This most recent Forum took place in Manchester in October 2017 and some of the topics up for discussion included:

  • A Legal Update of recent enforcement case law
  • One Council's experience of dealing with a range of issues using new powers such as Community Protection Notices
  • Deliberate Concealment of potential breaches of planning control
  • How County and Districts can work together to achieve compliance on mixed use sites
  • The Benefits of a 'Systems Thinking' approach to managing planning and enforcement caseloads.

The next Forum is due to take place on 11 October 2018 in Manchester. Details will be posted here a little closer to the time, once they have been finalised, however provisional bookings can be made at any time to reserve your place on this popular event.
